Ambient recording inside a horse's stable (with a horse inside it), next to many other stables. The horses neigh, snort, breathe and whinny. Hooves clacking, stepping and walking on concrete and hay. The interior stables pop and crack occasionally as the sun's heat makes the walls expand.
Recorded with Tascam DR-60DMKII 4-track field recorder and Octava MK 012 Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone. Processing: Removed human voices, strange background sounds, and any wind distortion. Many microphone-handling noises were also removed -the horse frequently bumped/sniffed it. Fade in/out was added.
The recording was made at Mooikloof Equestrian club during the day, as part of a first-year sound design student project for the university "Open Window Institute" (OWI).
